Rachel and Jay tied the knot on Cinco De Mayo at the Cheney Place downtown Grand Rapids. They celebrated their love with the people they love, tacos (Kangaroo Kitchen & Catering was amazing), margaritas, and fantastic dancing. They have known each other since high school and have the cutest love story, so their friends and family were more than ready to celebrate with these two.
Everything about their wedding day was magical. The colors, decor, florals, and dresses all came together just perfectly, and I wasn’t expecting anything less after getting to know Rachel and Jay (see their engagement session here). My favorite thing about Rachel and Jay is that they are super fun and they don’t necessarily aim for what everyone else is doing. That all showed through on their wedding day. They went with colorful decor, a unique drink and food menu and it came together like a wedding I have never seen before. Long story short: it was beyond perfect and it perfectly described the two of them.
This was a day for the books filled with so much emotion, incredible details, and people who are beautiful inside and out. Wait until you see the first time Jay saw Rachel.. it’s just beautiful. And the first time her dad sees her. And the bridesmaids reactions to seeing her in her dress for the first time. I mean can you blame them? She looked incredible.
I could go on and on with so many beautiful memories from the day but words are hard to describe such an incredible day, so I hope these images can tell the story best.
Cheers to Jay and Rachel!
As seen on 100 Layer Cake.
